Salt
Salt is a work in progress that examines growth, tension and the quiet transformation of material. The piece begins with long strands of thread that act as a scaffold for slowly forming salt crystals. As the crystals accumulate, the threads harden and shift, creating a structure that sits somewhere between garment, mineral and shoreline residue. The surface becomes layered and luminous, shaped by time, evaporation and careful handling.
This developing form will eventually meet water, creating a space for observing how material behaves when placed back into an elemental environment. The work reflects on how an object can hold memory, weight and translucence, and how the meeting of cloth, salt and water can suggest a body without ever needing to depict it directly.
This section will be updated as the work progresses.
