Salt

Salt is a work in progress that explores growth, tension, and the quiet transformation of material. The piece begins with long strands of thread, which act as a scaffold for slowly forming salt crystals. As the crystals build, the threads harden and shift, creating a structure that exists somewhere between garment, mineral, and shoreline residue. The surface becomes layered and luminous, shaped by time, evaporation, and careful handling.

Eventually, the form will meet water, offering a space to observe how the material behaves when returned to an elemental environment. The work reflects on how an object can hold memory, weight, and translucence, and how the meeting of cloth, salt, and water can suggest a body without ever depicting it directly.

This section will be updated as the work develops.
