Print and Dye work
Print and Dye Work is an open and evolving area of my practice that focuses on surface, colour, and material experimentation. It brings together a range of print and dye processes, including cyanotype, hand-foraged natural dyes, paper marbling, and other techniques explored through textiles, paper, glass, stone, and bookmaking.
Much of this work begins with observation and collection. I use my own photography, gathered plants, and natural materials as starting points, allowing light, water, pigment, and time to shape the final outcome. While cyanotype currently forms a large part of the work, the section also includes dye tests, fabric samples, marbled papers, and other process-based experiments.
Rather than working toward a single finished series, this area of my practice functions as an ongoing exploration of surface and material behaviour. It allows space to test colour, layering, staining, and the unpredictable effects created when natural materials interact with different surfaces.
These pieces often sit between printmaking, textiles, and book arts. They document moments of experimentation while also building a growing library of colours, textures, and processes that feed back into my wider practice.
