Teaching
I am a creative and inclusive educator with experience across secondary schools, higher education, adult learning, and community workshops. My teaching is calm, attentive, and rooted in care, creating spaces where learners feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore. I hold a Master's degree in Textiles, a PGCE in Design and Technology, specialising in textiles, and have taught learners of all ages, from Key Stage 3 to A-Level, BA students, and adult beginners or returning makers. While my approach adapts to each setting, the core values remain the same: autonomy, skill-building, curiosity, and creative confidence.
Lessons and workshops focus on hands-on making, problem-solving, and material exploration. Drawing on professional experience in costume, textiles, and design, I connect practical techniques with real-world application. Wellbeing and resilience are also central, with learners encouraged to reflect, adapt, and take pride in their work.
I offer classes and workshops in art textiles, creative textile techniques, and experimental making. I am also available to deliver talks, demonstrations, and tailored sessions for schools, organisations, and community groups. While I no longer teach from my own studio, I can be booked to run sessions at suitable venues or through organisations.
