Teaching
I am a creative and inclusive educator with experience teaching across secondary schools, higher education, adult learning, and community-based workshops. My teaching style is calm, emotionally attentive, and rooted in care. I create learning environments where students feel safe, seen, and supported, combining high expectations with gentle encouragement and student-led exploration.
I hold a PGCE in Design and Technology (textiles specialism) and have taught learners of all ages — from Key Stage 3 to A-Level, to BA students, to adult beginners and returning makers. My approach adapts to suit each setting, but the core values remain the same: autonomy, skill-building, curiosity, and creative confidence.
My lessons centre hands-on making and problem solving. I draw on my professional experience in costume, textiles, and design to bring subjects to life, connecting practical techniques with real-world application. I also support wellbeing and resilience through craft, encouraging learners to reflect, adapt, and take pride in their work.
I am available for hire as a freelance tutor, community educator, and workshop facilitator. I no longer teach from my own studio, but I am happy to be booked by organisations, venues, or individuals who can provide an appropriate location.
